Regular Season Round 9: Suduva - Okzhetpes 93-79

An interesting game for Lithuanian Suduva (10-0) which hosted in Marijampole second-best Kazakhstan Okzhetpes (6-3). Leader Suduva managed to get a 14-point victory 93-79. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Okzhetpes. The game without a history. Suduva led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Suduva looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Okzhetpes were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for power forward Iveta Salkauske (197-82, college: Illinois) who led her team to a victory with 29 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Power forward Laura Svaryte (190-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 14 rebounds for the winners. Five Suduva players scored in double figures. Suduva's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Ukrainian swingman Alina Iagupova (186-92, agency: LBM Management) answered with 37 points (!!!), 6 assists and 4 steals and Ukrainian forward Liudmyla Naumenko (188-93, agency: LBM Management) added 7 points and 17 rebounds in the effort for Okzhetpes. The victory was the eighth consecutive win for Suduva. They maintain first place with 10-0 record. Loser Okzhetpes keep the second position with three games lost. Suduva will face Interkhim (#3) in Odessa in the next round, which may be the game of the day.
