Regular Season Round 35: Shanxi Zh. - Xinjiang FT 112-110

The most exciting game of round 35 in the CBA took place in Taiyuan. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of second-ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (27-8) to eleventh ranked Shanxi Zhongyu (17-18) 112-110 on Friday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Xinjiang Flying Tige. Xinjiang Flying Tige was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Shanxi Zhongyu made 27-of-32 free shots (84.4 percent) during the game. 26 personal fouls committed by Xinjiang Flying Tige helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for American Jamaal Franklin (196-91, college: San Diego St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 45 points (!!!), 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 4 steals. Haitian-Canadian center Samuel Dalembert (211-81, college: Seton Hall) helped adding 16 points and 9 rebounds. Shanxi Zhongyu's coach Xujin Zhe used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. International center Qi Zhou (217-96) responded with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Andrew Goudelock (190-88, college: Charleston) scored 26 points and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Shanxi Zhongyu have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to tenth place, which they share with DongGuan L. Xinjiang Flying Tige at the other side keeps the second position with eight games lost. They share it with Sichuan BW. Shanxi Zhongyu is looking forward to face higher ranked Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#6) in Hangzhou in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Xinjiang Flying Tige will play on the road against North Control (#15) in Beijing and is hoping to win this game.
