Regular Season Round 17: Leipzig - Saarlouis 77-73

Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked USC Leipzig (9-8) beat at home 11th ranked Saarlouis (5-12) 77-73 on Saturday. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. USC Leipzig looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Sascha Leutloff (202-82) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and American power forward Julian Scott (203-90, college: Adams St.) chipped in 21 points and 7 rebounds. Five USC Leipzig players scored in double figures. American guard Ricky Easterling (188-83, college: Bridgewater) responded with 23 points and 7 assists and naturalized Bosnian center Muharem Mujkanovic (204-88) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. USC Leipzig moved-up to fifth place in South, which they share with Elchingen. Loser Saarlouis keep the eleventh position with 12 games lost. USC Leipzig will face Licher Basket (#10) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Saarlouis will play against Elchingen and hope to win that game.
