Top ranked Quintanar (10-3) recorded its third loss at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were edged by tenth ranked Gran Canaria (6-7) 71-69. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Quintanar. The guests trailed by 10 points after first quarter, but they rallied back and won the game by 2 points. Worth to mention a great performance of Senegalese forward Mouhamed Barro (205-95) who helped to win the game recording 11 points and 9 rebounds and Jose Manuel Hernandez (194-89) who added 11 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Chadian center Placide Nakidjim (205-94) responded with 21 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 blocks and Cuban point guard Taylor Garcia (182-87) scored 11 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Gran Canaria have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to eighth place in Group B, which they share with Torrelodones. Loser Quintanar still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Albacete. Gran Canaria will meet La Roda (#14) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Quintanar will play against Casvi (#11) and hope to secure a win.
