There was a surprise result in Madrid where twelfth ranked Casvi (5-8) beat higher ranked Real Canoe (7-6) 62-53 on Saturday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 37-27 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Casvi outrebounded Real Canoe 41-28 including 30 on the defensive glass. Forward Jorge Sanchez (198-94) fired 16 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Forward Walter Cabral (200-95, agency: Dynamics Global Management) chipped in 7 points and 15 rebounds. Casvi's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Ignacio Fort (200-83) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and guard Javier Alvarez (196-90) added 6 points and 5 rebounds respectively for lost side. Casvi moved-up to tenth place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas. Newly promoted Real Canoe dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Casvi will face league's second-placed Quintanar on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
