Regular Season Round 28: Prostejov - J.Hradec 84-66

Very expected game when 10th ranked BK Lions Hradec (7-19) was defeated on the road by second ranked Prostejov (20-6) 84-66. BK Lions Hradec was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. Prostejov dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to BK Lions Hradec's 30 and made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game. Prostejov players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. BK Lions Hradec was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for center Jan Tomanec (205-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. American forward Brett Roseboro (208-91, college: UMBC) contributed with 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. American point guard Stephon Lamar (184, college: Pacific) replied with 26 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Jiri Soula (185-95) added 8 points and 6 assists in the effort for BK Lions Hradec. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Prostejov maintains second position with 20-6 record behind leader BK Decin. BK Lions Hradec lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 19 games lost. Prostejov will play against Basketbal Svitavy (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. BK Lions Hradec will play against BK Opava and hopes to get back on the winning track.
