No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Guandong Tigers (27-10) beat on the road bottom-ranked Foshan (6-31) 121-105 on Wednesday. Guandong Tigers forced 22 Foshan turnovers. American swingman Justin Carter (193-87, college: Creighton, agency: Pensack Sports) nailed 27 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side and Nigerian-American power forward Ikechukwu Diogu (204-83, college: Arizona St.) accounted for 24 points and 6 rebounds. Four Guandong Tigers players scored in double figures. Guandong Tigers' coach Feng Du used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Jerrelle Benimon (203-91, college: Towson) came up with a double-double by scoring 37 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and swingman Mingxin Ju (200-93) added 25 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Foshan in the defeat. The victory was the third consecutive win for Guandong Tigers. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Shandong FB. Loser Foshan stay dead last with 31 lost games. Guandong Tigers will meet Fujian (#13) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Foshan will play against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#6) in Hangzhou and hope to secure a win.
