Very predictable result when thirteenth ranked Afyon (8-11) beat on the road bottom-ranked Istanbul DSI (4-15) 82-73. The game without a history. Afyon led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 5 assists. His fellow American import center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) accounted for 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Derek Williams (185-85, college: SMU) came up with 17 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists and the former international guard Firat Aydemir (187-80) added 20 points and 5 rebounds respectively for Istanbul DSI in the defeat. Four Istanbul DSI players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Afyon moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Istanbul DSI lost their third game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Afyon's next round opponent will be Pertevniyal (#10) in Istanbul. Istanbul DSI will play on the road against Socar Petkim (#13) and hope to win that game.
