Regular Season Round 19: Meliksah - Bandirma Kir. 69-66

A very interesting game took place in Kayseri. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 16th ranked Bandirma Kir. (6-13) to eleventh ranked Meliksah (8-11) 69-66 on Friday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Bandirma Kir.. It looked good early as Bandirma Kir. took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Meliksah had a 21-16 second period charge getting the lead and Bandirma Kir. was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 66-69. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Jeremy Ingram (190-92, college: N.C.Central) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 6 assists. His fellow American import Curtis Kelly (205-88, college: Kansas St., agency: HMS) accounted for 20 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. American point guard Phil Greene IV (187-92, college: St.John's) came up with 18 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals (made all of his seven free throws) and center Metehan Akyel (206-96) added 14 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Bandirma Kir. in the defeat. Four Bandirma Kir. players scored in double figures. Meliksah moved-up to ninth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Bandirma Kir. dropped to the fifteenth position with 13 games lost. Meliksah's next round opponent will be league's leader Tofas in Bursa and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Bandirma Kir. will play at home against Akhisar Bld (#9) and hope to win that game.
