Not a big story in a game in Urumqi where 18th ranked TianJin Steel (8-30) was rolled over by third ranked Xinjiang Flying Tige (30-8) 145-100 on Friday. The hosts trailed by 5 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 22-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 145-100. Xinjiang Flying Tige dominated down low during the game scoring 78 of its points in the paint compared to TianJin Steel's 54 and made 28-of-35 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded TianJin Steel 46-22 including a 32-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Xinjiang Flying Tige looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 12 passes made by TianJin Steel's players. TianJin Steel was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Bryce Cotton (183-92, college: Providence) scored 40 points (!!!) and 7 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the former international center Wei Su (212-89) chipped in 18 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. Forward XiangLong Meng (197-89) responded with 22 points and center Gang Yu (208-92) scored 17 points. Four Xinjiang Flying Tige and five TianJin Steel players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Xinjiang Flying Tige have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Sichuan BW. TianJin Steel lost fifth consecutive game. They keep the eighteenth position with 30 games lost.
