Regular Season Round 31: MMCITE Brno - CEZ Nymburk 57-102
Date: February 12, 2016
Bottom-ranked CEZ Nymburk managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time defending champion outleveled twelfth-ranked MMCITE Brno 102-57. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 45-point difference suggests that CEZ Nymburk is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to MMCITE Brno's 26. They outrebounded MMCITE Brno 41-15 including a 34-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. MMCITE Brno was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Michael Dixon (186-90, college: Memphis) who helped to win the game recording 17 points (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field). The former international swingman Vojtech Hruban (202-89) contributed with 14 points for the winners. The former international forward Jaroslav Prasil (200-80) answered with 19 points and forward Roman Zachrla (200-87) added 11 points in the effort for MMCITE Brno. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion (6-1) moved-up to eleventh place. MMCITE Brno lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. CEZ Nymburk will play against higher ranked Basketbal Svitavy (#8) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MMCITE Brno will play against BK Kolin (#5) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
