Regular Season Round 18: Novaschool - Coin 100-49

There was an upset when second-best Coin (9-5) was outleveled by eighth ranked Novaschool (4-10) in Malaga 100-49 on Saturday. The game without a history. Novaschool led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Coin to just 6 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Coin 51-27 including a 39-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Novaschool shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. It was a good game for center Anastasio Vazquez (204-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 10 points, 15 rebounds and 4 assists. Point guard Miguel Verdejo (178) contributed with 15 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Novaschool players scored in double figures. Novaschool's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Juan Mendez (181-85) replied with 18 points and David Ferrer added 6 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Coin. Novaschool maintains eighth position in Group D-East with 4-10 record. Loser Coin keeps the second place with five games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
