Regular Season Round 20: Socar Petkim - Istanbul DSI 77-67

Very expected game when 18th ranked Istanbul DSI (4-16) lost on the road to fourteenth ranked Socar Petkim (8-12) 77-67 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Socar Petkim. Istanbul DSI was better in second period 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. American point guard Josh Selby (188-91, college: Kansas, agency: Ali Guney BA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 25 points and 5 assists. Forward Bora Pacun (210-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Socar Petkim's coach Sahin Atesdagli used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Mikael Hopkins (206, college: Georgetown) replied with 26 points and 9 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Frank Robinson (193-84, college: CS Fullerton) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Istanbul DSI. Four Istanbul DSI players scored in double figures. Socar Petkim moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Istanbul DSI lost fourth consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Socar Petkim will face Pertevniyal (#10) in Istanbul in the next round. Istanbul DSI's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Istanbul Acibadem.
