Regular Season Round 19: Hitech - Pilipinas Agilas 95-89
Date: February 13, 2016
No shocking result in a game when third ranked Thailand Hitech (14-5) beat bottom-ranked Filipino Pilipinas Agilas (2-15) in Bangkok 95-89. It looked good early as Pilipinas Agilas took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Hitech had a 27-21 second period charge getting the lead and Pilipinas Agilas were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 89-95. It was a great evening for American-Israeli point guard Freddie Goldstein (178-88, college: S.Alabama) who led his team to a victory scoring 35 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American power forward Christien Charles (216-81, college: Villanova) helped adding 17 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side American center Will Creekmore (205-89, college: Missouri St.) responded with 25 points and 7 rebounds and the other American import power forward Michael Fey (213-83, college: UCLA) produced a double-double by scoring 15 points and 16 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hitech maintains third place with 14-5 record having just one point less than leader KL Dragons. Pilipinas Agilas lost their fourth game in a row. They stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Hitech will play against league's leader KL Dragons in Kuala Lumpur in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pilipinas Agilas will play on the road against Saigon Heat (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
