Second Stage Round 6: Petrochema - Ezerunas-Karys 77-67

Very expected game when 13th ranked Ezerunas-Karys (9-22) lost to ninth ranked Petrochema (14-17) in Jonava 67-77. The game without a history. Petrochema led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Petrochema forced 19 Ezerunas-Karys turnovers and outrebounded them 47-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Henrikas Vorotnikovas (203-90) who had a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Evaldas Aniulis (186-92, college: High School) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Petrochema's coach Kestutis Narusevicius allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Evaldas Baniulis (201-87, college: S.Carolina) who recorded 25 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Dominykas Zupkauskas (188-96) added 9 points and 5 assists respectively. Petrochema moved-up to seventh place, which they share with Silute and Telsiai. Ezerunas-Karys lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the thirteenth position with 22 games lost. Petrochema's next round opponent will be bottom-ranked Lietkabelis-2 (#14) in Panevezys and are hoping to win another game. Ezerunas-Karys will play at home against Nafta-Uni. and hope to win that game.
