Tenth-ranked Quilmes MP (12-22) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked Quimsa (19-14) in Santiado Estero. Quimsa managed to secure only two-point victory 83-81. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Quilmes MP. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-18. But Quilmes MP won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Quimsa made 16-of-19 charity shots (84.2 percent) during the game. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Italian center Damian Tintorelli (204-81) who scored 26 points and 5 rebounds (on 10-of-12 shooting from the field). The former international forward Nicolas Romano (200-87) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American Walter Baxley (193-84, college: Mars Hill) who recorded 25 points and the former international point guard Luis Cequeira (180-85) added 21 points respectively. Defending champion moved-up to third place. Quilmes MP at the other side keeps the tenth position with 22 games lost. Quimsa's next round opponent will be Penarol (#4) in Mar del Plata.
