Regular Season Round 19: KTE-Duna Aszfalt - Sopron KC 83-72

We should mention about the upset which took place in Kecskemet, where higher ranked Sopron KC (12-7) lost to tenth ranked KTE-Duna Aszfalt (8-11) in a road game 72-83 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 83-72. KTE-Duna Aszfalt outrebounded Sopron KC 37-22 including 23 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for Serbian center Kemal Karahodzic (210-89) who led his team to a victory scoring 20 points and 7 rebounds. Naturalized Serbian forward Tomislav Ivosev (204-90) helped adding 16 points and 10 rebounds. At the losing side the former international Gergely Toth (206-89, agency: Interperformances) responded with 26 points (on 11-of-14 shooting from the field) and Canadian point guard Hernst Laroche (185-89, college: N.Mexico St., agency: HMS) scored 18 points and 4 assists. KTE-Duna Aszfalt moved-up to ninth place. Loser Sopron KC dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. They share it with Kormend. KTE-Duna Aszfalt will meet league's leader Atomeromu in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sopron KC will play against Jaszberenyi (#14) and hope to secure a win.
