Regular Season Round 16: UL Huskies - TM Hotel Cork 58-78

The game in Limerick supposed to be also quite interesting. Second ranked TM Hotel Cork (10-4) played at the court of 8th ranked UL Huskies (3-11). TM Hotel Cork did not have too big problems and got a relatively easy victory 78-58 on Saturday. TM Hotel Cork dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to UL Huskies' 38. TM Hotel Cork forced 21 UL Huskies turnovers and outrebounded them 49-32 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Claire Rockall (178-90, college: Iowa St.) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 9 rebounds and the former international forward Grainne Dwyer (-84) who added 14 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. Four TM Hotel Cork players scored in double figures. At the losing side American guard Kelsey Harris (178, college: Elon) responded with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and her fellow American import forward Sarah Benedetti (178, college: St.Francis, NY) scored 17 points and 7 rebounds. TM Hotel Cork have a solid three-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains second position with 10-4 record having just two points less than leader DCU Mercy, which they share with WIT Wildcats. Loser UL Huskies keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. TM Hotel Cork's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Cork to the arena Brunell.
