Second Stage Round 6: KFUM Central - Eskilstuna 64-73

We cannot really consider it an upset in the game between close teams in Stockholm where 5th ranked KFUM Central (2-4) was defeated by sixth ranked Eskilstuna (3-5) 73-64 on Sunday. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 26-15. But KFUM Central won third quarter 20-9. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Eskilstuna made 22-of-24 free shots (91.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 24 KFUM Central turnovers. Strangely KFUM Central outrebounded Eskilstuna 44-31 including 18 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was guard Hannes Widell (183-94) who scored 22 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. British-Cameroonian forward Franck Kouagnia (201-89) chipped in 12 points and 9 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Mikael Banks (191-81) who recorded 29 points and 6 rebounds and Jonatan Bohman added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively. KFUM Central's coach let to play eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Eskilstuna moved-up to fifth place in Superettan. Newly promoted KFUM Central dropped to the sixth position with four games lost. Eskilstuna will face Talje Knights (#8) at home in the next round. KFUM Central will play against KFUM Uppsala and hope to win that game.
