Eighth-ranked Argentino (14-20) gave a tough game to first ranked CASLA (23-16) in Junin on Tuesday. The visitors from Almagra managed to secure only three-point victory 71-68. However their fans expected much easier game. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Argentino. The guests trailed by 13 points at the halftime before their 48-32 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Marcos Mata (201-86) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and international guard Nicolas Aguirre (188-88) who added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) responded with 9 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists and naturalized Italian swingman Juan Cangelosi (197-81) scored 15 points and 7 rebounds. Newly promoted CASLA maintains first position with 23-16 record. Argentino at the other side keeps the eighth place with 20 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
