Regular Season Round 18: Provence Basket - Lille 82-59

The game between ninth ranked Provence Basket (10-8) and 17th ranked Lille Metropole (6-12) in Fos-sur-Mer on Tuesday ended with biggest points difference. Provence Basket outscored guests from Lille 82-59. The game was mostly controlled by Provence Basket. Lille Metropole was better in second period 24-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Lille Metropole to just 4 points in first quarter. Provence Basket forced 27 Lille Metropole turnovers. Lille Metropole was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. American players dominated the game. It was a good game for center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 6 rebounds. Swingman Aaron Broussard (195-90, college: Seattle) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four Provence Basket players scored in double figures. Forward Ronnie Burrell (203-83, college: NC-Greensboro) replied with 16 points and 5 rebounds and guard T.J. Price (193-93, college: W.Kentucky) added 16 points in the effort for Lille Metropole. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Provence Basket have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Poitiers and Le Portel. Lille Metropole lost third consecutive game. They keep the seventeenth position with 12 games lost. Provence Basket will face Souffelweyersheim (#13) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Lille Metropole will play against Orchesien BC (#18) in Orchies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
