There was no surprise when 12th ranked MMCITE Brno (6-23) was defeated at home by eighth ranked Basketbal Svitavy (12-17) 83-67 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 46-29 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Basketbal Svitavy made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Canadian point guard Jahmal Jones (183-91) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 10 assists. American forward Evan Bruinsma (203, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Court Side) helped adding 22 points and 8 rebounds. At the losing side forward Roman Zachrla (200-87) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and American center Paul Egwuonwu (206-91, college: Montana St.) scored 17 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MMCITE Brno's coach Tomas Petivlas rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Basketbal Svitavy maintains eighth place with 12-17 record. MMCITE Brno lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 23 lost games. Basketbal Svitavy will meet at home CEZ Nymburk (#11) in the next round. MMCITE Brno will play against BK Kolin and hope to secure a win.
