Regular Season Round 21: Meliksah - Afyon 82-86

Everything went according to plan in Kayseri where eighth ranked Afyon (10-11) beat 12th ranked Meliksah (8-13) 86-82 on Wednesday. The guests trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 4-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 86-82. American center David Weaver (207-87, college: Wake Forest) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import guard Marcus Hall (185-85, college: Colorado) chipped in 24 points. The best for the losing side was American guard Jeremy Ingram (190-92, college: N.C.Central) with 23 points and forward Hadi Dogan (203-86) scored 19 points. Five Meliksah players scored in double figures. The victory was the third consecutive win for Afyon. They maintain eighth place with 10-11 record, which they share with Gelisim. Loser Meliksah keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Afyon will face Akhisar Bld (#13) at home in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Meliksah will play against Socar Petkim and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
