Regular Season Round 22: Acibadem - Pertevniyal 98-74
Date: February 19, 2016
There was no surprise in Istanbul where 10th ranked Pertevniyal (9-13) was crushed by second ranked Acibadem (18-4) 98-74. The game without a history. Acibadem led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They shot the lights out from three nailing 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. Acibadem players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. It was a very good performance for American-Bulgarian point guard Keydren Clark (180-84, college: St.Peter's) who helped to win the game recording 23 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists. American power forward Sharrod Ford (206-82, college: Clemson) contributed with 14 points and 5 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Four Acibadem players scored in double figures. American guard Elijah Johnson (190-90, college: Kansas) replied with 28 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Damontre Harris (208-91, college: Campbellsville) added 9 points, 5 assists and 4 steals in the effort for Pertevniyal. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Acibadem have an impressive five-game winning streak. Newly promoted Acibadem maintains second position with 18-4 record having four points less than leader Tofas. Pertevniyal at the other side keeps the tenth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Acibadem will play against Meliksah (#14) in Kayseri in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Pertevniyal will play at home against Eskisehir Basket (#7) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
