Regular Season Round 18: Dynamo - Khimik 60-84

An interesting game for Khimik (19-3) which played road game in Kyiv against one of their biggest challengers Dynamo (19-8). Second ranked Khimik had an easy win 84-60. The game was mostly controlled by Khimik. Dynamo managed to win third quarter 15-13. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Dynamo's 28. It was a good game for American point guard Branden Frazier (190-92, college: Fordham) who led his team to a victory with 15 points and 5 assists. The former international forward Vladimir Konev (201-89) contributed with 11 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Four Khimik players scored in double figures. American forward Quinton Doggett (203-90, college: Southern) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and the former international Artur Drozdov (199-80, agency: Comsport) added 9 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Dynamo. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Defending champion maintains second position with 19-3 record having five points less than leader SC Kryvbas. Newly promoted Dynamo keeps the third place with eight games lost. Khimik are looking forward to face Zaporizhya (#7) in Zaporozhye in the next round where they are favorite. Dynamo's supporters also look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Kyiv to the arena Infiz Basket.
