Semi-Finals Game 2: Hawks - Wildcats 104-87

Date: February 21, 2016
The Illawara Hawks fired past the Perth Wildcats and forced the decisive third game in the semifinal series. It looked good early as Perth Wildcats took a 2-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Illawarra Hawks had a 28-24 second period charge getting the lead and Perth Wildcats were not able to take back game control losing it eventually 87-104. Illawarra Hawks made 20-of-24 charity shots (83.3 percent) during the game. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. New Zealand swingman Kirk Penney (196-80, college: Wisconsin, agency: Duran International) notched 18 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists to lead the effort and the former international center Andrew James Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) supported him with 20 points and 7 rebounds. Four Illawarra Hawks players scored in double figures. Even 20 points and 4 assists by American guard Jermaine Beal (191-87, college: Vanderbilt) did not help to save the game for Perth Wildcats. His fellow American import forward Casey Prather (196-91, college: Florida) added 21 points for the guests. Perth Wildcats' coach rotated ten players seeing no chance for a win.
