The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Albacete as it allowed them to take a leadership position in Group B. Albacete defeated 5th ranked Azuqueca at home 85-71. The game was mostly controlled by Albacete. Azuqueca managed to win third quarter 25-22. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 20-of-23 free shots (87.0 percent) during the game. Albacete forced 19 Azuqueca turnovers and outrebounded them 44-27 including a 21-8 advantage in offensive rebounds. 25 personal fouls committed by Azuqueca helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The game was dominated by American players. Guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) fired 22 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Point guard Marcel Mosley (183-92, college: Ark.-Pine Bluff) chipped in 19 points (made all of his seven free throws). Four Albacete players scored in double figures. Albacete's coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Azuqueca at the other side dropped to the sixth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Real Madrid II and Real Canoe. Azuqueca will play next round against strong Tenerife Naut. trying to get back on the winning streak. Albacete will try to continue on its current victory against tenth ranked Gran Canaria on the road.
