Regular Season Round 33: MMCITE Brno - Prostejov 68-94

Everything went according to plan when second ranked Prostejov (23-8) outscored on the road bottom-ranked MMCITE Brno (6-25) 94-68 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by Prostejov. MMCITE Brno was better in second period 24-23. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Prostejov looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Center Jan Tomanec (205-85) stepped up and scored 16 points and 8 rebounds for the winners and the former international guard Pavel Slezak (186-84) chipped in 22 points. Prostejov's coach Zbynek Choleva felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was power forward Ivo Prachar (208-82) with 22 points and forward Roman Zachrla (200-87) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Four MMCITE Brno players scored in double figures. Prostejov maintains second place with 23-8 record having just one point less than leader BK Decin. MMCITE Brno lost fifth consecutive game. They stay dead last with 25 lost games. Prostejov will face NH Ostrava (#7) at home in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. MMCITE Brno will play against CEZ Nymburk (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
