Semi-Finals Game 3: Wildcats - Hawks 89-74

The Perth Wildcats punched the NBL Grand Final ticket. They overcame the Illawara Hawks in the decisive third game of the semifinal series. The game without a history. Perth Wildcats led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Illawarra Hawks' 22. Perth Wildcats forced 23 Illawarra Hawks turnovers. 26 personal fouls committed by Illawarra Hawks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Matthew Knight (204-85, college: Loyola Mary) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. The former international forward Jesse Wagstaff (203-86, college: Metro St.) helped adding 17 points and 7 rebounds. The best for the losing side was New Zealand swingman Kirk Penney (196-80, college: Wisconsin, agency: Duran International) with 18 points and 5 assists and the former international center Andrew James Ogilvy (211-88, college: Vanderbilt) scored 9 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
