Flamengo knocked down Brasilia to get to the winning start of their Group F campaign. Six players scored in double digits for Flamengo. Marcelo Machado stepped up with 15 points to lead the winners. Flamengo accounted for a 23:16 lead after the opening frame. Brasilia denied the deficit and secured a 2-point lead heading into the fourth quarter. But Flamengo used a massive 38:23 rally in the final term to ice the victory. Marquinhos Vieira and Jerome Meyinsse had 14 points each for the winners. Deryk Ramos answered with 22 points for Brasilia.
