No shocking result in a game when first ranked Albacete (14-3) outleveled on the road 10th ranked Gran Canaria (6-11) 91-53 on Saturday. The game without a history. Albacete led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Gran Canaria's 24. Albacete forced 22 Gran Canaria turnovers and outrebounded them 39-26 including 27 on the defensive glass. Gran Canaria was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Garrett Nevels (188-92, college: Hawaii) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and power forward Jose Luis Otero (203-89) who added 17 points during the contest. Four Albacete players scored in double figures. Forward Jose Blazquez (197-97) responded with 10 points and 5 rebounds and Senegalese forward Mouhamed Barro (205-95) scored 6 points and 7 rebounds. Gran Canaria's coach Pepe Carrion gave up on the game allowing to play twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Albacete have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group B with 14-3 record. Gran Canaria lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the ninth place with 11 games lost. Albacete will face Casvi (#14) in Villaviciosa in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Gran Canaria will play on the road against Tenerife Naut. (#7) in Santa Cruz and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
