ProA top team - Strasbourg IG (15-6) added another victory to their record on Saturday. This time they beat thirteenth ranked Cholet Basket (8-13) 93-85. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-13. But Cholet Basket won second period 26-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great shooting night for Strasbourg IG especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 60.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Cholet Basket's players. American guard Mardy Collins (198-84, college: Temple) nailed 13 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists for the winning side and the former international point guard Rodrigue Beaubois (185-88, agency: Comsport) accounted for 19 points. Four Strasbourg IG players scored in double figures. American point guard DaShaun Wood (185-85, college: Wright St., agency: Inception Sports) came up with 27 points and 6 assists (went 9 for 9 at the free throw line !!!) and the other American import forward Murphy Holloway (201-90, college: Mississippi) added 17 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Cholet Basket in the defeat. Cholet Basket's coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Strasbourg IG have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-6 record, which they share with Monaco. Loser Cholet Basket keeps the thirteenth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Chalons-Reims and Nancy. Strasbourg IG will meet league's second-placed Monaco on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Cholet Basket will play against Paris-Levallois (#16) and hope to secure a win.
