Regular Season Round 21: Nancy - Le Havre 98-68

Rather predictable result when fifteenth ranked Sluc Nancy (8-13) rolled over at home bottom-ranked STB Le Havre (1-20) 98-68 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Sluc Nancy. STB Le Havre was better in second period 25-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Sluc Nancy shot the lights out from three sinking 16 long-distance shots on high 53.3 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by STB Le Havre's players. It was a good game for the former international guard Steed Tchicamboud (193-81, agency: Comsport) who led his team to a victory with 19 points and 6 assists. American swingman James Bell (198-92, college: Villanova) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Center Adolphe Michel Jean-Baptiste (204-79) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and American-Bulgarian point guard Willie Deane (188-80, college: Purdue, agency: Higher Vision Sports) added 12 points and 5 assists (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) in the effort for STB Le Havre. Four Sluc Nancy and five STB Le Havre players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sluc Nancy moved-up to thirteenth place, which they share with Cholet and Chalons-Reims. STB Le Havre lost their ninth game in a row. They stay dead last with 20 lost games. Sluc Nancy will face higher ranked Chalon/Saor (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. STB Le Havre will play against Chalons-Reims (#14) and hope to win that game.
