Regular Season Round 21: Arkadikos - PAOK 66-68

A very close game took place in Arkadia between PAOK and Arkadikos. Eighth ranked PAOK (9-12) got a very close victory on the road over 13th ranked Arkadikos (5-16). PAOK managed to escape with a 2-point win 68-66 on Saturday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 18-15. But Arkadikos won second period 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Serbian guard Milenko Tepic (202-87, agency: Beo Basket) who scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian power forward Nikola Markovic (208-89) chipped in 11 points and 9 rebounds. PAOK's coach Soulis Markopoulos used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American guard Cameron Jones (193-89, college: N.Arizona) who recorded 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and point guard Christoforos Stefanidis (187-80) added 11 points respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. PAOK moved-up to sixth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Newly promoted Arkadikos keeps the thirteenth position with 16 games lost. PAOK will meet at home Apollon Patras (#8) in the next round. Arkadikos will play against Lavrio (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
