Regular Season Round 20: Pielagos - Ardoi 67-74

Leading Pielagos (13-3) recorded its third loss in Renedo de Pielagos. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Ardoi (12-4) 74-67. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Pielagos. Pielagos was ahead by 3 points after three quarters before a 22-12 charge of Ardoi, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by guard Pope Urtasun (187-80) who scored that evening 25 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and naturalized Ukrainian forward Anton Savitski (196-86) supported him with 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 blocks. Even a double-double of 16 points and 11 rebounds by Senegalese center Abdoulaye Seck (205-92) did not help to save the game for Pielagos. Forward Miguel Molina (197-89) added 10 points and 11 rebounds for the hosts. Five Pielagos players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ardoi moved-up to third place in Group A-A, which they share with Estela and Easo. Pielagos at the other side still keeps top position with three games lost. They share it with Santurtzi. Ardoi will play against Easo (#5) in San Sebastian in the next round. Pielagos will play on the road against Clavijo (#8) in Logrono and hopes to get back on the winning track.
