Semi-Finals Game 1: Townsville - Perth 72-91

Perth advanced into WNBL Grand Final. They edged Townsville in the semifinal clash. The game was mostly controlled by Perth Lynx. Townsville Fire managed to win fourth quarter 17-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Perth Lynx had a 16-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Betnijah Laney (183-93, college: Rutgers, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and her fellow American import swingman Samantha Whitcomb (178-88, college: Washington) chipped in 21 points and 8 rebounds. Perth Lynx's coach Andy Stewart used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side the former international center Cayla George (192-89) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Natalie Novosel (180-89, college: Notre Dame, agency: LBM Management) scored 15 points and 5 assists. Five Perth Lynx and four Townsville Fire players scored in double figures.
