Important game to mention about took place in Juana Diaz. Leones (1-2) saved a 2-point victory at home edging Indios (0-2) 90-88 on Tuesday evening. Leones looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Leones made 7 blocks. It was a good game for American Dominic McGuire (206-85, college: Fresno St.) who led his team to a victory with a triple-double by scoring 11 points, 16 rebounds, 10 assists and 4 blocks. The former international forward Carlos Emory (196-91) contributed with 24 points for the winners. Leones' coach Nelson Colon used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Jamario Moon (203-80, college: Meridian CC) answered with 20 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists and American-Panamanian guard Trevor Gaskins (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pro Sports) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists in the effort for Indios. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Leones will face Piratas in Quebradillas in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Indios will play on the road against Cangrejeros (#6) in Santurce and hope to get finally their first victory.
