Very important is a home loss of Brujos (2-1) against Capitanes (1-2) on Tuesday night. Host Brujos were defeated by Capitanes in Guayama 85-69. The game was mostly controlled by Capitanes. Brujos managed to win fourth quarter 25-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Capitanes looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for international forward Renaldo Balkman (203-84, college: S.Carolina) who led the winners and scored 22 points and 8 rebounds. The former international forward Angel Alamo (206-85) accounted for 13 points and 5 assists for the winning side. The former international swingman Alejandro Carmona (194-83) came up with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds and Canadian-Irish power forward Levon Kendall (209-84, college: Pittsburgh) added 11 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for Brujos in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Capitanes will meet at home Santeros (#7) in the next round. Brujos will play against Atleticos (#4) in San German and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
