We should mention about the upset which took place in Bydgoszcz, where higher ranked Astoria Bydg. (12-13) lost at home to thirteenth ranked Biofarm PZN (8-17) 68-76. Center Adam Metelski (206-83, college: Cal-Irvine) notched 21 points and 9 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Mateusz Brek (192-94) supported him with 15 points and 15 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Biofarm PZN's coach Przemyslaw Szurek allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 15 points and 6 rebounds by Piotr Robak (194-91) did not help to save the game for Astoria Bydg.. Swingman Hubert Mazur (190-84, agency: Promotex) added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the hosts. Newly promoted Biofarm PZN maintains thirteenth position with 8-17 record, which they share with Slask 2 Wroclaw. Astoria Bydg. at the other side keeps the seventh place with 13 games lost. Biofarm PZN's next round opponent will be higher ranked Nysa Klodzko (#8) in Kloszko and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
