Regular Season Round 35: Svitavy - BK Opava 83-75

Very important is a road loss of third ranked BK Opava (21-12) against eighth ranked Basketbal Svitavy (14-19) on Wednesday night. Visiting BK Opava was defeated by Basketbal Svitavy in a tough game in Svitavy 75-83. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of BK Opava. Basketbal Svitavy shot 28 for 38 from the free-throw line, while BK Opava only scored twelve points from the stripe. Basketbal Svitavy forced 20 BK Opava turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 9 blocks. BK Opava was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American forward Evan Bruinsma (203, college: Detroit Mercy, agency: Court Side) who led his team to a victory scoring 34 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. His fellow American import power forward Nicchaeus Doaks (201-87, college: Chattanooga, agency: HMS) helped adding 15 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Krystof Vlcek (194-91) responded with 11 points and 4 assists and forward Jakub Blazek (203-80) scored 13 points. Basketbal Svitavy maintains eighth place with 14-19 record. BK Opava at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Basketbal Svitavy will play against higher ranked USK Praha (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BK Opava will play against BK Kolin and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
