Regular Season Round 28: Klosterneuburg - Vienna 73-66

Date: March 4, 2016
Very important is a road loss of third ranked Vienna (15-12) against eighth ranked Dukes (12-16) on Friday night. Visiting Vienna was defeated by Dukes in a tough game in Klosterneuburg 66-73. Vienna was ahead by 2 points after three quarters before a 22-13 charge of Dukes, which allowed them to win the game. The winners were led by American power forward Jason Chappell (208-83, college: Wisconsin) who scored that evening 23 points and 5 rebounds and the other American import forward Malik Cooke (201-89, college: S.Carolina) supported him with 18 points. Dukes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even a double-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists by the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) did not help to save the game for Vienna. Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) added 17 points and 9 rebounds for lost side. Four Vienna players scored in double figures. Dukes moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Wels. Vienna at the other side keeps the third position with 12 games lost. Dukes will play against higher ranked Furstenfeld Panthers (#4) on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vienna will play against Raiffeisen Wels and hopes to get back on the winning track.
