Regular Season Round 19: Kozuv - Kumanovo 79-69

Very important is a road loss of third ranked Kumanovo 2009 (13-6) against fifth ranked Kozuv (9-9) on Saturday night. Visiting Kumanovo 2009 was defeated by Kozuv in Gevgelija 79-69. It ended at the same time the nine-game winning streak of Kumanovo 2009. It looked good early as Kumanovo 2009 took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Kozuv had a 20-12 second period charge getting the lead and Kumanovo 2009 was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-79. Kozuv made 18-of-20 charity shots (90.0 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American point guard Ryan White (180-88, college: Texas St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 22 points. International forward Vladimir Brckov (200-89, agency: Beo Basket) helped adding 19 points. At the losing side the former international point guard Aleksandar Kostoski (186-88, agency: Beo Basket) responded with 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Serbian swingman Vukasin Mandic (200-82) scored 11 points. Kozuv maintains fifth place with 9-9 record. Kumanovo 2009 at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Kozuv's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Gevgelija to the arena Best Gevgelija.
