Regular Season Round 20: Ulriken - Gimle 88-46

Date: March 6, 2016
Very significant was Ulriken's (#2, 14-4) victory against 4th ranked Gimle (11-7) 88-46. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Gimle. The game without a history. Ulriken led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Gimle's 32. Ulriken forced 23 Gimle turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including 17 on the offensive glass. The winners were led by the former international forward Maren Hoff Austgulen (182-91, college: Idaho) who scored that evening 21 points and 9 rebounds and forward Mie Hoff (180-97) supported her with 8 points and 13 rebounds. Four Ulriken players scored in double figures. Even 6 points and 8 rebounds by swingman Josefin Winther (180-86) did not help to save the game for Gimle. Forward Katrine Fjaerestad (175-90) added 10 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Ulriken have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 14-4 record having just two points less than leader Ullern. Gimle at the other side keeps the fourth place with seven games lost.
