Regular Season Round 6: San German - Santurce 96-89

The most important game in the last round took place in San German between third ranked Cangrejeros (3-2) and eighth ranked Atleticos (3-3) on Monday night. Cangrejeros were defeated by Atleticos in a tough game on the road 89-96. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Cangrejeros. Cangrejeros trailed by 13 points at halftime and as many as 15 after three quarters before a 31-23 last quarter charge cut the deficit to 89-96 at the end of the game. Atleticos looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a good game for Panamanian forward Tony Bishop (201-89, college: Texas St., agency: Inception Sports) who led his team to a victory with 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Egyptian-American center Omar Samhan (211-88, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with 20 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American forward Javon McCrea (201-92, college: Buffalo) replied with 22 points and 8 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Damion James (201-87, college: Texas, agency: Priority Sports) added 14 points and 12 rebounds in the effort for Cangrejeros. Five Atleticos and four Cangrejeros players scored in double figures. Cangrejeros' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Atleticos moved-up to sixth place. Cangrejeros at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Atleticos are looking forward to face Leones (#8) in Juana Diaz in the next round. Cangrejeros will play at home against Piratas and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
