Bottom-ranked Indios managed to get the second consecutive victory. This time they edged ninth-ranked Manati in Mayaguez 91-88. Manati was ahead by 15 points after three quarters before a 32-14 charge of Indios, which allowed them to win the game. They made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Manati was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Alexander Galindo (200-85, college: FIU) who led the winners and scored 30 points and 5 rebounds. American-Panamanian guard Trevor Gaskins (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pro Sports) accounted for 18 points and 7 assists for the winning side. Five Indios players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Ricardo Sanchez (212-87, agency: Beo Basket) came up with 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and American forward Landon Milbourne (201-87, college: Maryland) added 20 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Manati in the defeat. Indios (2-3) moved-up to eighth place. Manati at the other side keeps the ninth position with five games lost. They share it with Bayamon and Ponce. Indios will play against bottom-ranked Leones (#11) in Juana Diaz in the next round. Manati will play at home against Cangrejeros and hopes to get back on the winning track.
