Gigantes upset Fuerza Regia to even things up at 1-1. The game was mostly controlled by Gigantes. Fuerza Regia managed to win fourth quarter 31-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Fuerza Regia to just 7 points in first quarter. Gigantes looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. International forward Edgar Garibay (208-90, college: Long Beach St.) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points and 6 rebounds. American swingman Tim Pickett (192-81, college: Florida St., agency: Interperformances) contributed with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. American forward Eugene Phelps (198-90, college: Long Beach St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds and Paul John Hernandez added 11 points in the effort for Fuerza Regia. Five Gigantes and four Fuerza Regia players scored in double figures. Fuerza Regia's coach Jose Martinez Boglio rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help.
