Regular Season Round 30: Vienna - Gussing 53-61

An interesting game for Gussing Knights (26-4) which played road game in Wien against 3rd ranked Vienna (17-13). First ranked Gussing Knights managed to get a 8-point victory 61-53. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 23-7. But Vienna won second period 19-18. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gussing Knights dominated on the defensive end, holding Vienna to just 7 points in first quarter. American-Ivorian forward Dane Watts (203-86) scored 19 points and 6 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and international point guard Moritz Lanegger (190-90) chipped in 8 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Gussing Knights' coach Daniel Mullner allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was the former international guard Stjepan Stazic (199-78) with 17 points and Serbian Predrag Miletic (193-84) scored 17 points. Gussing Knights have an impressive 11-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 26-4 record. Vienna at the other side keeps the third place with 13 games lost. Gussing Knights will play against Gmunden Swans (#8) in Gmunden in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Vienna will play on the road against Furstenfeld Panthers (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
