Finals Game 1: JX-Eneos S. - Fujitsu RW 71-54

JX-Eneos celebrated the opening victory in the WJBL championship series. They topped visiting Fujitsu RW to take the lead. The game was mostly controlled by JX-Eneos S.. Fujitsu RW managed to win third quarter 13-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The former international power forward Ramu Tokashiki (191-91) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and international point guard Asami Yoshida (165-87) chipped in 11 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the losing side the former international forward Al Mitani (182-78) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and international point guard Rui Machida (161-93) scored 9 points and 7 rebounds. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games.
