Regular Season Round 31: Neptunas - P.Zvaigzdes 95-91

Very expected game when 8th ranked P.Zvaigzdes (10-18) lost to third ranked Neptunas (16-12) in Klaipeda 91-95. However just four-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. P.Zvaigzdes was ahead by 1 point after three quarters before a 21-20 charge of Neptunas, which allowed them to win the game. It was a great evening for American Daniel Ewing (191-83, college: Duke) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. His fellow American import power forward Jerai Grant (203-89, college: Clemson) helped adding 9 points and 12 rebounds. At the losing side American point guard Derrick Low (191-86, college: Washington St.) responded with 23 points and the former international swingman Steponas Babrauskas (197-84) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Neptunas have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain third place with 16-12 record having nine points less than leader Zalgiris. P.Zvaigzdes at the other side keeps the eighth position with 18 games lost. Neptunas will play against Vytautas (#4) in Prienai in the next round. P.Zvaigzdes will play at home against Lietkabelis (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
