Second Stage Round 12: Petrochema - Silute 86-85

A very interesting game took place in Jonava. It ended with only one-point defeat on the road of 10th ranked Silute (16-21) to ninth ranked Petrochema (17-19) 86-85 on Saturday evening. The hosts started the game with a very strong first quarter 29-18. But Silute won second period 24-23. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was point guard Tadas Sebeziovas (185-85) who scored 31 points and 5 assists. Center Tomas Rimsa (208-96) chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was forward Edvinas Alunderis (202-92) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 16 rebounds and center Aurelijus Pukelis (206-94) added 23 points and 11 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) respectively. Four Silute players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Petrochema moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Nafta-Uni. Silute lost third consecutive game. They keep the tenth position with 21 games lost. Petrochema's next round opponent will be Rasai (#12) in Raseiniai.
